Definition and Overview

Definition

Diagnosis of the intelligent network (IN) at the protocol level requires a powerful protocol-analysis platform. A test creation environment (TCE), analogous to a service-creation environment (SCE), supports the creation, management, and execution of various test cases that allow a user to verify and maintain IN services.

Overview

The same qualities that make an IN so flexible also make verifying and maintaining IN services a challenge. Rather than a canned diagnostic approach, manufacturers and service providers require a test mechanism that allows them to create customized message content and message flows. As this tutorial explains, using a TCE to perform protocol verification by means of test cases is the strategy of the future.
