Improving Network Performance through Enterprise Caching

Definition and Overview

Overview
This document describes how Enterprise Caching technology addresses two major concerns of today's network administrator:

  • Improving network performance to support the implementation of new applications while supporting current ones
  • Cutting costs and protecting network-infrastructure investments by improving network optimization

To meet these challenges, three complementary technologies are available: bandwidth management, which enables enterprises to align network with business priorities; Web caching, which improves response times for better Web access; and Enterprise Caching, which optimizes network performance and increases network throughput by extending the power of caching beyond the Web to all enterprise applications.

Enterprise Caching technology provides performance boosts of 100–400+%, to enterprise and service-provider networks. This in turn fuels the efficiency and success of day-to-day business.
