The Need to Automate and Integrate Delivery and Assurance across Today's Networks and Services

8. Conclusion

For the scalability to deliver and manage high-volume DSL services, service providers must link and automate their service activation and assurance processes.

But it’s not enough simply to integrate myriad in-house and third-party management systems. Service providers must ensure that their services and networks achieve strong, automatic interoperability across physical and virtual boundaries, independent of vendor, technology, or protocol.

Finally, automation will enable service providers across the DSL supply chain to achieve visibility into multiple networks and services. End-to-end visibility throughout the DSL supply chain lets service providers improve the quality of DSL service by helping them pinpoint and resolve problems more rapidly, effectively reducing the costs of operations and achieve better customer satisfaction.
