Mr. Schmitz is head of the division technology engineering of T-Com. He is responsible for technical development of all wire-bound transport platforms. He leads also the development and the advancement of all the service platforms such as IP, traffic selector platform for DSL, PSTN/ISDN, and intelligent network of T-Com. His responsibility for the transport and service platforms contained from the technique selection, support for field implementation up to technical support for implemented systems.

Mr. Alwan has overall responsibility for the company's portfolio of IP and multiservice switches and routers. He came to Alcatel-Lucent through the 2003 acquisition of TiMetra Networks, a start-up focused on service routers for IP/MPLS networks, where he was founder, president, and chief executive officer. Mr. Alwan is a frequent speaker at industry events and was recently named one of the industry's "Top 10 Movers and Shakers" by Light Reading for his role in building the highly successful IP business at Alcatel.

Mr. Bates is a member of chairman and chief executive officer John Chambers' senior staff, and he contributes to Cisco's overall strategy and direction. He is responsible for the overall strategy, engineering direction and execution, and marketing for SPTG. Mr. Bates leads a team of approximately 8500+ employees employees and a technology group that generates more than $8 billion in annual revenues.

Scott Kriens

Mr. Kriens built the team from its early days of product development to the current broad commercial success of the expanding customer and product portfolio. Prior to joining Juniper Networks, he was a co-founder and officer of StrataCom in both operations and sales capacities from 1986 to 1996. Mr. Kriens also serves as a director of VeriSign and Equinix. He holds a B.A. degree in economics from California State University in Hayward.

Stefano Pileri

Mr. Pileri was appointed to his current role in February 2007. Prior to this, he had been the chief technology officer of Telecom Italia Group, directly reporting the president, with the responsibility to drive and coordinate the fixed-mobile integration and the overall technological network development. Previously, since March 1998, Mr. Pileri was responsible for the Telecom Italia wireline network. He has been in SIP (Italian Telecom Operator) since 1982, where he assumed growing responsibilities over the years in the network management systems department.

Vicente San Miguel

Mr. San Miguel has been in his current role since January 2006. Previously, he worked at Telef—nica de Espa–a, where his responsibilities included network deployment, budget allocation, and engineering activities with a team of more than 1,300 people. Mr. San Miguel had been responsible for technology and network planning, where he actively participated in the model change to develop broadband networks and services, including Imagenio (IPTV). He has a degree in telecommunications engineering from the UP of Madrid.
