CTP – Certification
Why choose IEC Certification?
The certification establishes the student as a professional who has achieved and demonstrated competency in communications technologies. The individual will benefit from the practical, real-world knowledge that is the centerpiece of each course. Combining theory and practical information increases the student's value as an employee. Successfully completing eight courses provides the student both breadth and depth of education.
Employers will benefit by having technically knowledgeable employees who have earned the International Engineering Consortium Certificate in Communications Technologies. These employees use their certificate program as a springboard to become more productive in present and future positions with the employer.
What are the requirements for certification?
Students who successfully complete seven courses and the summary examination will receive the International Engineering Consortium Certificate in Communications Technologies.
What are the admission requirements?
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university (strongly recommended)
- Full- or part-time employment in the communications industry or a related profession, or equivalent commitment to a profession
Additionally, the student must have access to a computer with the following:
- 56kbps or faster modem
- Internet access
- Internet Explorer
- RealPlayer 8 or later
- Microsoft Windows
Do I have to enter the certification program to take classes?
No. All courses within the IEC Communications Technologies Program may be taken individually on a noncredit, audit basis. This provides the professional, who needs to know a specific subject quickly, an opportunity to learn from a recognized expert. Students who later decide to pursue the seven-course requirements for IEC certification can apply any noncredit courses they have successfully completed at any time.
