This session will compare available NGMN candidate technologies (e.g., 3GPP EPS, SAE/LTE, WiMAX) with regards to state/maturity, forecast market penetration, etc. The purpose of the discussion will be to help develop a picture of which technologies will prevail in what markets and what, consequently, the mobile ecosystem will look like.

Dr. Liu has been in his current position since January 2004. Previously, he was a senior consultant of system engineering at T-Mobile Deutschland. Prior to that, Dr. Liu was a senior engineer of network planning at T-Mobile Deutschland. He began his career at Detecon as a project engineer working on Project Digitaler Mobilfunk in the Radio Network planning department.

Lars Bondelind

Mr. Bondelind has more than 30 years of experience, from managing organizations designing and delivering large ICT systems to the international market at, among others, Philips and LM Ericsson. Over the past 10 years, his responsibilities have interweaved marketing of systems and services with engineering and product strategy issues, a mix that is the signature of his role since joining Huawei in April 2001 to build the Swedish branch. Mr. Bondelind graduated with an M.S.E.E. from the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm.
Christian Grégoire

Dr. Grégoire was head of the Alcatel business for northeast Asia until December 2006. Based in Shanghai for more than four years, he created the Alcatel Regional Chief Technology Office in the Asia-Pacific in 2002. Previously as the vice president research and innovation for Alcatel, Dr. Grégoire had various positions in the Alcatel Corporate Chief Technology Office since 1992. The first part of his career was in the French Atomic Energy Commission.

In 1996, Dr. Jung became private educator at University of Kaiserslautern and in 1998 also at Technical University of Dresden, Germany. From March 1998 till May 2000 he was with Siemens AG, Bereich Halbleiter, now Infineon Technologies, as director of cellular innovation and later as senior director of concept engineering wireless baseband. In June 2000, he became Chaired Professor for Communication Technologies (KommunikationsTechnik) at the Gerhard-Mercator-University Duisburg.
Tino Spadaro
Director, New Product Development, Networking and Communications
Freescale Semiconductors
Mr. Spadaro was also director of strategy at Virata. He has more than 23 years of industry experience in communications, semiconductor microprocessors, network processors and systems, and software design. Mr. Spadaro held various management-level positions at Motorola Semiconductors, from director of European operations to general manager of the networking and communications division.
