Technologies on Display
  • Broadband Voice Applications
Available now in conjunction with our partners at MetaSwitch; Broadband Voice Applications bring a significant new set of capabilities to an underlying converged voice capability. By providing an applications platform with an open API; Fujitsu and MetaSwitch create an environment for the ubiquitous access to voice and unified communications via applications development; or web-based 'mashups' which integrate key features such as click-to-dial; user self-management and directory services into any number of third party applications. Also provided in the extended feature set are unified communications including voicemail; conferencing; incoming call management; SIP phone auto configuration/provisioning and enhanced business group applications. Broadband Voice Applications are available with underlyng MetaSwitch platforms; or as a standalone feature server in its own right.
  • BroadOneTM WX series of mobile WiMAX base stations (BTS)
Available during Q2 2008; Fujitsu's BroadOneTM mobile WiMAX base stations (BTS) are designed to be among the smallest and most power-efficient in the industry; providing operators with an ideal in-service solution that offers fast; easy installation and maintenance. Fujitsu will initially sell three base station models designed for the 2.5GHz and 2.3GHz bands. Housed as a single; lightweight unit; the BroadOne WX300 outdoor macrocell base station is designed for wide-area transmissions over a radius of several kilometres. The second model; a compact outdoor microcell base station; is designed for transmissions over a several-hundred-metre radius; in areas with a lower concentration of users and remote areas with poor coverage. The third BroadOne model is an indoor; ultra-compact femtocell base station; providing broadband solutions for all types of environments.
  • GeoStream Access Gateway Multi-Service Access Node (MSAN) Technology
Fujitsu continues to evolve its innovative GeoStream Access Gateway series; recently introducing the next generation Copper Multi-Service Access Node (CMSAN) technology with support for ADSL 2+ services. A key component in the BT 21CN programme; Fujitsu's CMSAN also handles ISDN2 and ISDN30 services; and significantly incorporates an aggregator — the Aggregator MSAN (AMSAN). This enables Broadband traffic from individual CMSANs to be concentrated into a single backhaul; with up to three CMSANs supported from a single AMSAN — designed for larger exchanges handling up to 22 thousand lines per system; and underlining the scalability of Fujitsu's technology concept. In addition; the latest CMSAN developments include a new Integrated Voice line card; further extending the scope and functionality of Fujitsu's line card portfolio.
