Web Services Redefine the Platform for New Services
Plenary Panel

Web service technologies are revolutionizing the way new services are built. They are shaping the next-generation transformational architectures of the traditional telecommunications operators, they are enabling service creation and innovation in the expansive Internet at an exponential rate and, in the enterprise world, they are gaining increasing importance as a common integration layer for cross application development. Now, the operators are enabling their Web service infrastructures and making these available to third parties, whist at the same time the Web 2.0 world of Internet "mashups" is the new paradigm shift in the Internet. How can these worlds be brought together? What are the key technology challenges? How will the market evolve? Who will be the winners and who will be the losers?
