Web 2.0 and SOA: Friend or Foe?
B1
SOA is finally getting adoption after years of work. However, the rapid rise of Web 2.0 brings the following questions about SOA to mind:
- Do Web 2.0 and SOA play together? Are they friends, foes, or unrelated strangers?
- What are the best ways to leverage SOA investment in a Web 2.0 world? How does one build and deploy Web 2.0 solutions based on SOA?
- What do Web 2.0 technologies such as rich Internet application and Ajax mean to SOA?
- What is mashup? Is mashup competing against SOA?
- How about security and governance in a Web 2.0 and SOA world?
Drawing upon the speakers' years of experience in pioneering Web 2.0 and several thousand enterprise engagements, this talk presents the concept of enterprise Web 2.0, which integrates SOA and Web 2.0 for business usage, and governed enterprise mashups that tie into SOA infrastructure. The session will show how different vendors/products form a Web 2.0 and SOA ecosystem. Demonstrations will be presented during the session.
