To Build IP Infrastructure in FMC Era
Workshop 5

The Challenge and Solution for FMC-Compliant IP Infrastructure

Nowadays, FMC is a trend in the industry. In order to maximize customers' experience, operators migrate the IP network to support FMC service, but what is the standard of FMC-compliant IP network infrastructure? We need to draw a common conclusion, and then discuss how to build the FMC-compliant IP network from the metro to the service POP, then to the core network.

To build an FMC-compliant IP network, the following major factors should be considered:

  • Multi-service transport, including mobile GSM, 3G R4 UMTS, IMS service and triple-play service, and business VPN service.
  • Support of clock synchronization over the IP network or over the Ethernet link directly.
  • FMC service operation, building an open operating platform for easy-to-introduce new value-added services to give customers more chance and space to get and produce new services.
  • Provide differentiated QoE for all kinds of services.

In this session, carriers and vendors will share experience, visions, and road maps for multi-play services and networks and discuss how to migrate the current vertical networks into future FMC-compliant IP bearer networks.
