This workshop focuses on how networks are transformed and migrated toward Ethernet in detail. For instance:
In the residential broadband area, what used to be the stronghold of ATM-based DSL is now moving toward Ethernet-based GPON — how is this done? In the mobile evolution area, what used to be ATM and TDM-based 2G- and 3G-based networks are now moving toward 3.5G and 4G, fully utilizing Ethernet — how is this done? In the business network area, what used to be ATM- and TDM-based leased lines and connectivity are now moving toward IP-VPN and Ethernet VPN, fully utilizing Ethernet — how is this done? In the raw bandwidth transport area, what used to be SDH, ATM, or TDM-based pipes over DWDM are now moving toward packet over DWDM, fully utilizing Ethernet — how is this done?
