DSL and PON: Cost-Effective Solution for Mobile Backhaul?
G3

Mobile service providers today face unprecedented challenges as traffic per user is rising sharply but not revenue per user. Operational costs for backhaul are soaring and need to be sharply reduced. DSL and xPON is cost-effective compared to other backhaul technologies for mobile backhaul.

  • How can providers solve the clock synchronization between the BTS/NODEB and BSC/RNC on backhauling using DSL and xPON?
  • With the new technology developing on DSL and xPON, how can providers utilize them to backhaul the data and voice traffic of mobile service more economically?

In this session, carriers and vendors will share experience, visions, and ideas for the issues of SMB access in the coming FTTx networks.
