Emerging Markets Business Model Challenges and Potential Technology Solutions
What has Muhammad Yunus to do with broadband? Why should service providers address low-income customers? What's the benefit in addressing this market? Some of these questions will be answered in this session.
The APAC region is much diversified in terms of broadband development. On one hand there are Japan and Korea, playing in the world's broadband leaders league. On the other hand there are countries such as India and Malaysia with billions of people living there who will initiate the next wave of broadband adopters. They own a different profile, so they will request basic connectivity services, new business models, and technological solutions. These all bring benefits such as health care, education, and entrepreneurial activity. This session will present some of these "early adopters" and ways how to address this highly potential market.
