Asia is a hotbed for mobile TV as it naturally fits the lifestyles of customers in this region. People in Asia commute more and longer to and from work than anywhere else in the world-commuting time that can be targeted for services such as mobile TV. Looking at the way some Asian nations consume entertainment gives a strong indication of the real opportunities through. A case in point seems to be not only a unique demand for entertainment, but also the acceptance and willingness to pay for it, indicating that entertainment for Asians holds a fairly high status for which people are prepared to pay a premium. This session focuses on the opportunities for mobile TV in the Asia-Pacific and will provide an overview of current mobile TV deployments in the region.
