Program Overview
The advent of broadband networking is changing the nature of communications. In order to survive and thrive, carriers must offer not only voice service, but also a growing variety of broadband-enabled content and entertainment services. They must evolve their access networks, rework their network management and operations, and engage new business models that will drive revenue in a new world of competition.

The Broadband World Forum Asia is designed to help service providers meet this challenge by examining the range of broadband content, entertainment, applications, access strategies, service management, and integration that form the backbone of the profitable network operator. This educational program and exhibition will examine the latest developments in the areas of mobile broadband; IPTV; FTTx; metro-area Ethernet; the digital home; and revenue-driving applications, services, and content delivery strategies.

PCCW is pleased to serve as Official Program Sponsor for the Broadband World Forum 2008.

Submitting a Speaker Proposal
Speakers who wish to participate and speak at the Broadband World Forum may visit www.iec.org/events/spt/speakerLogin.asp?CONF_ID=85 and select Broadband World Forum Asia 2008. You must then select the session you wish to submit for from the drop-down menu of sessions. Session abstracts including chair information are available on the event Web site at www.iec.org/events/2008/bbwf_asia/conference/schedule.html.

Speaking proposals may also be submitted directly from a session on our Web site. All speaker proposals must be submitted using the speaker's e-mail address in the registration proposal process. An e-mail is sent directly to the speaker confirming receipt of his or her proposal. Please do not submit using anyone else's e-mail address other than that of the speaker. Contacts for a speaker may add their information at the bottom of the submission form, but not at registration of a speaker.

As with all IEC conferences, the session chairs make the final decision regarding who will speak on their panels for that particular session. If your proposal is selected, an automatic mail is sent from the submission system followed by direct contact from the chairperson further confirming your participation.

Speaking proposals received earlier in the process have a better chance of being selected (please note this is a supplemental tool for the chairs). If selected as a speaker on a panel, you will receive complimentary admittance to the conference. There is no sponsorship fee required to speak.

Speaking proposals are accepted up until the time of the conference, since on occasion an unforeseen development may require substitute speakers to participate. However, proposals received prior to 6 February 2008 have a better chance of being included in the program.

Thank you for your interest in participating in the Broadband World Forum Asia 2008. If you have any questions, please contact Pitsa Madoch, director of Content Development, at pmadoch@iec.org or +1-312-559-4601 or Kate Lyons at klyons@iec.org or +1-312-559-3326.
