IEC Applauds 2008 InfoVision Award Winners at Broadband World Forum Europe 2008 in Brussels
CHICAGO September 30, 2008 The International Engineering Consortium (IEC) today announced the winners of the InfoVision Awards celebrating some of the industry's most notable broadband products, services, and applications. IEC Executive Vice President Roger Plummer presented the InfoVision Awards live in front of hundreds of industry professionals today at the Broadband World Forum Europe 2008 at the Brussels Expo which will continue through Thursday.
This year, we themed the Broadband World Forum 2008 Delivering the Promise, and the InfoVision Winners certainly play a significant role in delivering the broadband promise, commented IEC Executive Vice President Roger Plummer. The caliber of submissions for the InfoVision Awards illustrates great strides in the industry and were pleased to honor these advancements. The 2008 InfoVision winners include the following companies and products in their respective categories:
Category 1: Access Network Technologies and Services
Category 2: Network and Services Management and Operations
Category 3: Wireless Broadband
Category 4: Content, Entertainment, Applications, and Services
Category 5: Broadband Appliances, Devices, and Home Networking
Category 6: Enabling Silicon and Component-Level Technologies
Category 7: Core Network Innovation and Advances
Category 8: Metro Network Technologies and Services
Category 9: Go Green
Category 10: New Product Concepts Entries were judged by a panel of industry experts selected from the Technical Program Committee which helped develop more than 50 world-class keynotes, plenary panels, workshops and sessions. Submissions were judged according to the following criteria:
Product must be commercially announced or in deployment prior to 29 August 2008. Exception: Entries in the category of New Product Concepts must be commercially announced a maximum of one month prior to the Broadband World Forum Europe and no later than 30 September 2008.
