Leading Telecom Executives Take the Stage at IEC’s Broadband World Forum Europe 2008 this Month in Brussels

Thousands of industry professionals will convene at the International Engineering Consortium’s (IEC) Broadband World Forum Europe 2008 to discuss the latest developments in broadband this 29 September through 2 October at the Brussels Expo

CHICAGO – September 17, 2008 – The International Engineering Consortium’s (IEC) Broadband World Forum Europe 2008 will feature a welcome address by World Forum Chair Mr. Scott Alcott, executive vice president of the service delivery engine of Belgacom and Keynoters Mr. Didier Bellens, president and chief executive officer of Belgacom; Mr. Ben Verwaayen, chief executive officer of Alcatel-Lucent; Mr. John McMahon, president and managing director of Europe for Sony Pictures Television International; Mr. Carl-Henric Svanberg, president and chief executive officer of Ericsson; and Mr. Julio Linares López, chief operating officer of Telefónica S.A.

The principal speakers will lead more than 250 industry experts to speak in the educational conference discussing the latest developments in broadband including technologies for the home as well as fixed and mobile networks. Highlighted topics include femtocells, long term evolution (LTE), regulatory issues and IPTV. Additionally, there will be representation from the European Commission, major content providers and cable companies.
