  • Optical Metro Edge 6500 and Adaptive 40/100G Optical Engine

The Optical Multi-service Edge 6500 (OME 6500) is a converged core optical platform that efficiently manages and transports converged TDM, data, and wavelength services. OME 6500’s wide array of services, fully non-blocking 80G VC12 switch matrix, scalable L2 service switch with extensive Quality of Service (QoS) support, ROADMs and 10G and 40G transponders with electronic Dynamically Compensating Optics that support multi-span links of over 2,000 kilometers without in-line dispersion compensation equipment are some of the key attributes that allow service providers a smooth migration to a reliable and scalable Ethernet and Agile 10/40/100G infrastructure while maintaining minimal infrastructure costs. Nortel Optical Manager provides FCAP advanced provisioning tools. standard northward OSS interfaces and advanced provisioning tools.

  • WDM-PON based Ethernet Access Portfolio

Recent breakthroughs in optical technology have enabled system vendors to bring to market solutions that provide the service operator the ability to cost effectively deploy WDM within the first mile of a fiber access network eliminating the requirement for planning and inventorying of the wavelength specific SKUs at the customer premise. The emerging technologies are based on optical injection locking techniques where simple and identical low cost lasers can now be used at all the remote Optical Network Unit (ONU) locations and locked to single frequency source.
Although all the transmitters are identical, each one operates at a different WDM wavelength through the use an innovative optical modulation scheme called Spectrum Slicing that automatically locks the lasers to a specific wavelength. Here are some of the benefits: Simple Engineering, Simple Deployment Model, Secure Networking, and Optimized outside Plant Design, Service Velocity, Service Innovation and finally providing a Foundational Infrastructure Main
