The Mobile Future of Broadband: Evolving to Mass-Market HSPA and LTE
Workshop 5
Consumer broadband services have historically been delivered by fixed-network technologies such as DSL and cable. But since 2007, mobile operators have gained significant broadband market shares in both developed and developing economies, and some mobile operators are positioning HSPA as a direct substitute for DSL services. This session will provide an overview of the evolution of HSPA and LTE capabilities and constraints for delivering mass-market broadband services. Leading operators will share their experiences of launching mobile broadband services in terms of both technology performance and market success.
