The Next Steps for a Real Fixed-Mobile Convergence
E6

Although telcos, ISPs, and mobile operators are now competing in the same markets, they are not limited to one option when it comes to defining their fixed-mobile convergence solutions. Providers are looking for the convergence model that best suits their strategy for optimizing existing network and infrastructure investments and target markets — whether they be business or residential. We will look at different types of architectures possible and some real deployments to illustrate. Fixed-mobile convergence can take various forms depending on the type of operator you are, the network architecture you have, and your road map to IMS: wireless VoIP, UMA, 3G femtocell, mobile IP Centrex, etc. Is fixed-mobile video a myth or a (future) reality?
