This session will explore the unified communications market and investigate the offers in the market today and the plans for the future. It will go beyond the traditional to look at the impact of Web 2.0 and its interaction with traditional communication services to provide compelling business propositions.

Mr. Wilkinson has more than 15 years of experience in the telecommunications industry and has spent the majority of that time working in the carrier IP segment. Prior to joining BroadSoft, he was vice president of marketing at session border controller vendor Newport Networks, where he dramatically improved the awareness of the company. Mr. Wilkinson also led a corporate marketing team at Alcatel that was responsible for global programs and the positioning of Alcatel in the telecom and enterprise markets. Before being in corporate marketing, he held a number of senior divisional marketing roles in the carrier solutions and broadband businesses.

Mr. Harrington leads the company's efforts to provide premise solutions for unified communications and IMS aimed at the SOHO and SMB markets. Prior to joining U4EA, he had extensive involvement in corporate deals in London in the brewery sector, more recently as chief financial officer of Inn Business PLC, which was acquired by Punch Taverns in 1998. Mr. Harrington joined U4EA as chief financial officer in May 2000 and was subsequently appointed chief executive of U4EA Technologies, Ltd., in August 2000.

Mr. Kumar is responsible for the R&D and product engineering services portfolio business at Infosys. Most recently, Mr. Kumar was the founder and CEO of WIncNet Corp., a wireless infrastructure firm focused on a mobility softswitch for enterprise VoIP and data mobility. Previously, he led Voiceworkz Inc., a network technology firm, from a concept to a VoIP gateway platform product, sales, and a liquidity event. Mr. Kumar held executive management positions at Scient, SAP, and OSF. He has a master's degree in computer science and business administration from Boston University.

Markus S. Thomaszik

Mr. Thomaszik is responsible for a service offering that includes net-based PBX features and IP Centrex services. Prior to March 2007 he was responsible for conferencing and collaboration products. Before 2002 Mr. Thomaszik had different roles in marketing and sales within the mobile and fixed-line communication business of Dolphin Telecom and Siemens.

Jean-Pierre Lartigue

Mr. Lartigue currently oversees the market strategies, marketing, and communications for Alcatel-Lucent’s broadband access and IPTV activities worldwide. He has been closely involved in defining Alcatel-Lucent’s FTTH strategy and isa strong proponent of deep-fiber development in Europe. Mr. Lartigue was recently the editor of the book Breaking the Barriers, gathering experts’ testimonies about the global evolution of services and very-high-speed broadband.
