High-Quality Home Delivery: The Role of Home Networking Technology in Ensuring QoE
A4

Telcos are betting that IPTV, VoD, and interactive video will entice consumers to move from cable or satellite companies. For consumers to be motivated to change, telcos must guarantee equal or better quality of experience (QOE) than what consumers are already receiving.

RGs, STBs, and home networking interfaces in the residence play an important role in guaranteeing a high level of QoE. This session will do the following:

  • Examine the home networking factors impacting viewing experience
  • Address the quality-of-service frameworks required for integrated residential devices
  • Explore home network management models for guaranteed video delivery that maintain required QoE
