The Role of Data Layer in Enabling a Unique User Identity and a Ubiquitous User Experience
A2

Data and information fragmentation is one of the key problems for delivering any-device, any-network services to users. Data — dispersed in the various network layers from control to application, from access to the Web and even devices — is in fact the key value generator in the new ICMT market.

According to the long-tail ratio, we cannot expect to find a new and unique killer application: the killer application is built on the user experience, which has to be monitored and understood so that service bundles can match it with a network- and device-independent approach.

This session will examine how the data layer as the unique repository of user profiles can enable service and solution providers to study and develop new services converging into users' experience expectation and how users can be enabled to manage their profiles and have an active approach to communications services leveraging on an unique repository, capable to locally retrieve or compose from other network repository their Profile 2.0, and advanced service enablers such as presence and location servers.
