Half-Day Workshop 4
Is Carrier Ethernet Ready to Support IMS Architecture?
9:00 – 12:00 | Monday, 26 March

IMS is regarded by many service providers and vendors as one of the most important technology developments of the decade. On the application level, IMS will be the prominent architecture for service delivery. On the network level, carrier Ethernet is gaining traction as a dominant technology in metro networks. Although IMS is a seemingly network-agnostic technology, it imposes some requirements on the network layer. Issues such as resource allocation control, signaling convergence, QoS support, and other key features should be considered prior to the enrollment of service delivery networks.

In this panel, participants will share their understanding and vision on the combination of IMS and carrier Ethernet, two key building blocks in the broadband converged networks.
