Convergent Charging and Billing in Unified Networks
11:00 – 12:30 | Thursday, 29 March

Around the world, telecom service providers are in various stages of their journey to new value-added services. To succeed, new pricing and business models will be required and, with them, new ways of handling partnerships, revenue distribution, and risk. A convergent handling of the end-to-end revenue management processes will be the cornerstone of successful business for the operator, both in relation to its subscribers and its business partners.

It is no longer neither relevant to segment consumers nor economically justifiable to have two separate systems for users with different payment options-prepaid and postpaid. Nor is it justifiable to address fixed and mobile access networks with different systems for rating, billing, and customer care.

This session will discuss the possibilities and issues in the evolution to a converged charging and billing system, for all services and for the whole subscriber base-no matter prepaid or postpaid, fixed or mobile.
