Media and Telecoms: Which Solutions and Offer Bundles Make Them Allies?

IPTV is the hottest topic today, but there are still several issues to be faced and solved on the technical and business model sides. The session will let representatives from different market areas and segments discuss which technical solutions are actually needed in the delivery of TV content through fixed and mobile networks, as well as present their visions on bundle models that let all the players involved increase their revenues.

Mr. Tondi joined Italtel in 2003 as the marketing director of the network business solutions business unit. Mr. Tondi started his career in the IBM environment, then worked at Olivetti for 10 years, dealing with marketing and international and domestic sales support activities related to personal computers and infrastructure management systems and services. Then Mr. Tondi worked for several years at Elsag as marketing director of IT services. Before joining Italtel, he had been at Getronics, where he was director of the mission critical business unit, dealing with infrastructure services and solutions, networking, security, and mission-critical systems based on storage-area network solutions.

Cisco Systems Europe
Mr. Campoli leads solutions development, packaging, and go-to-market strategies for the wireline service provider sales organization in Europe and in emerging markets. From 2001 to 2003, as senior manager of the central solutions marketing organization of Cisco Systems, Mr. Campoli led development and packaging of triple-play solutions for broadband providers and vertical industry solutions for the enterprise market. He joined Cisco Systems EMEA in 1998 as an architecture consulting engineer in the service provider line of business. At Cisco, he was involved in architecture design and integration of broadband access and mobility solutions with major European carriers, cable and mobile networks, and contributing to the definition of new Cisco access products.
Alessandro Capuzzello
Research and Development Director
Mediaset - RTI
Mr. Capuzzello joined Mediaset - RTI in 2005 in his current role. Before joining Mediaset, he worked for several years in Telecom Italia Lab (the former CSELT) as mobile platform director, leading the development of several service platforms adopted by TIM. Mr. Capuzzello spent almost three years in Telital (the company was renamed Telit by the end of 1999) as business development director. He started his career in Italtel as technical expert, later moving to CSELT as project manager and then to Elsag, where he followed the start-up of the telecom business.
Gabriele Elia
Head, Broadcast Solution Innovation
Telecom Italia
Mr. Elia has been involved in research and development of IPTV, DVB-H, DTT/MHP and mobile and music services of Telecom Italia. He received his master's and doctorate in electronic engineering from Politecnico di Torino and joined CSELT, Telecom Italia Group's former R&D division, in 1994; there, he was involved in major IP services initiatives of Telecom Italia such as interbusiness, telecom online, TIN.IT, and the launch of broadband services over ADSL.
