Houlin Zhao

Mr. Zhao was elected to his current role in November 2006 and took office on 1 January 2007. From 1999 to 2006, Mr. Zhao served as director of the Telecommunication Standardization Bureau. In his two terms as director, he introduced effective and efficient measures to improve ITU's standards environment and strengthened its promotion. Between 1979 and 1980, Mr. Zhao studied as a visiting scholar in Switzerland. He graduated from Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications in 1975. He joined the University of Essex (United Kingdom) in 1984, where he obtained an M.S. degree in telematics in 1985. |

Mr. Jiang has been in his current position since April 2004. He held the following titles before taking his current position: deputy director general and director general of the Telecommunications Administration Bureau of the Guangxi Autonomous Region; deputy director general of the Telecommunications Administration Bureau of the Ministry of Information Industry (MII); director general of the State Computer Network and Information Security Management Center; director general of the Computer Network and Information Security Office of the State Informatization Steering Group; and director general of Policy and Regulation of MII. |
