Generating Revenue with Advanced IP Video and Multiplay Services
F5

Driven by competitive pressure and the promise of added average revenue per user, telcos are rolling out new IPTV services as quickly as possible. However, additional user revenue is only a piece of the overall picture of potential revenue from advanced IP video and multiplay services. The unique two-way nature of IP technology, coupled with evolving trends in end-user behaviors, creates opportunities for new services as well as new business models. Service providers are looking for new revenue streams to offset the high cost of operations and improve business metrics, while consumers are increasingly interested in a personalized experience and a more interactive digital lifestyle. These marketplace dynamics give rise to innovative new service offerings such as targeted advertising that have the potential to completely change the service provider landscape.
