With PBB-TE, T-MPLS and VPLS-TE all garnering a host of industry attention, it is clear that connection-oriented Ethernet has evolved and is staking a critical place in today's market, especially with regard to multipoint-to-multipoint services.
This session will examine the drivers behind the growing interest in multipoint-to-multipoint services and explore what technologies are available to support them. It will review existing options, detailing their advantages, disadvantages, and deployment scenarios. It will also draw upon some real-world service provider feedback to take a look ahead to what's next. Attendees will leave with a greater understanding of multipoint-to-multipoint services and the various support options available today.

Mr. Dunphy has 20 years in telecommunications, including 14 years of hands-on experience in service operators, large enterprise, professional services, and consulting firms, including AT&T, Ashland Oil/Valvoline, WinStar, and Nortel, and has consulted in numerous hardware vendor and tier-2 and -3 service operator clients. His background includes senior product manager, director of marketing, senior consultant, and operations project management roles focused on frame relay, ATM, Internet, and LAN/WAN integration services, Ethernet networks, and microwave.

Mr. Kukreja has 15 years of experience in the marketing and management of telecommunications and data communications products and services. He has particular expertise in assisting global service providers with the development of differentiated Ethernet service offerings for their target vertical markets. Prior to joining Atrica, Mr. Kukreja was director of product marketing for Metera Networks, where he led the product marketing team in the development of an integrated IP/MPLS optical services platform for metro networks.

Mr. Newell is responsible for marketing the IPD portfolio to a broad range of customers, including fixed and mobile carriers, cable MSOs, and competitive carriers. The portfolio encompasses IP/MPLS routers, multiservice WAN switches, and network and service management products. He joined Alcatel through the 2003 acquisition of TiMetra Networks, where he oversaw the company's marketing activities. Prior to TiMetra, Mr. Newell held a variety of product marketing and sales engineering management roles with Nortel and Bay Networks in Europe and the United States. He started his career in technical support and network consulting in the United Kingdom.
