The Digital Home: Networking, Technology, and Service Directions
A2

Once broadband service providers assert themselves as complete digital service providers, broadband subscribers will become increasingly familiar with benefits of the digital home. It is at the customer premises where access network complexities meet complications of the residential gateway, home network, and the multiple end devices and/or home networks connected to it. At the residence, technology must adapt to the home environment rather than the reverse.

Consumers will look for access to information, entertainment, and communications. Critical to achieving these goals is the broadband service providers' ability to integrate their access networks and future services into home networks and the growing list of end devices attached to them. This panel session will provide insight to the evolution of the digital home from both broadband service provider and equipment provider experiences.
