Carriers are implementing carrier Ethernet access solutions as the technology matures sufficiently to allow large-scale deployment, supporting the growing demand for Ethernet services and Ethernet transport networks.
This presentation shows how innovative Optical+Ethernet solutions are evolving to meet the demands of next-generation Ethernet access networks. Intelligent Ethernet access devices have pioneered functions such as service demarcation and Ethernet OAM, which are necessary in next-generation access applications.
New requirements for strict SLA management, economies of scale, Layer-2 multiprotocol support, and open access infrastructure are driving new developments into the marketplace and into carriers' networks.
