The Opportunities and Challenges of Multi-Play
Workshop 5

Nowadays, operators are going through a painful period because it is difficult to attract customers, stop ARPU from declining, and create new business with traditional services on existing networks. The competition from ICT is also threatening the operator's benefits. Fortunately, multi-play helps operators to grasp the trends of services diversity by offering personalized services. Owing to the innovative services of multi-play, operators can reduce churn rate and improve ARPU to achieve a higher strategic level in the service-led transformation.

The deployment of multi-play brings both opportunities and challenges for operators. From the network and service, the major factors should be considered as follows:

  • Operation and management of carrier-class all-IP network
  • Cost-effective network: lowest TCO design
  • Quality of experience (QoE) assurance
  • Future-proof and open network architecture
  • Perfect content delivering system and security assurance mechanism

In this session, carriers and vendors will share experience, visions, and roadmaps for multi-play services and network, and how to migrate the current vertical network into the future network architecture.
