Digital Home: Evolving the Home Networking Environment
Workshop 2

Following the worldwide discussions on digital home care strategies in 2006, focusing on the automation, remote management, and self-care of home networks, the time is right to take the next step — a step in the direction of the broader digital home concept.

During this session, not only will we talk about trends and technologies to facilitate home network management, but also, we will discuss the evolution of the home networking environment in general, including the positioning and evolution of the residential gateway and set-top boxes.

Another topic that will be touched upon — in the framework of home networking and the related device convergence — is how to bring 3G in the home via mobile base stations, with an eventual integration in the residential gateway — in short, a visionary session on a concrete market opportunity.
