Mr. Rahier was previously executive vice president of Alcatel, president of Alcatel's fixed communications activities, and a member of the Alcatel executive committee. He was appointed to his current role in April 2005, having worked as chief operating officer since 2003 in the same activities. Previously, Mr. Rahier held a variety of roles at Alcatel, including president of broadband networking activities from 2001, president of fixed networks activities from 2002, and president of access networks activities from 2003.
