IPTV and Internet Video: Competitive or Complementary
G3

Video changes everything and is driving the next generation of broadband network upgrades worldwide. To battle the decline in traditional wireline voice services, many operators are driving toward offering IPTV service. While many large-scale deployments of IPTV by operators have been held up due to regulatory and technical issues, there have been huge innovations in Internet video services such as YouTube.

This panel of experts will examine key questions such as the following:

  • Will IPTV and Internet video compete with or complement each other?
  • How can operators monetize the growing trend of providing video services over the Internet?
  • What are the network requirements to design and deploy networks that integrate these services from an end user's experience point of view?
  • Is IPTV compelling enough compete against the television service offered by cable companies?
  • What are the emerging business models and keys to success to providing profitable IPTV or Internet video services?
