With the increase in demand for bandwidth hungry services, service providers are living in fear of a so called 'capacity crunch'. But is this a genuine concern, and if so, are operators doing enough to prevent it. TelecomTV put this question, and others, to Tellabs' Director of Business Solutions.
BT's Doug Williams has been heading up the International NM2 project, which is seeking to redefine the way stories are told in a non-linear broadband World. Doug talks narratology, shape-shifting and Gormenghast with TelecomTV's Robert Coren.
Sushel Bijganath presence as a keynote speaker at Broadband World Forum has proved a popular choice amongst the event attendees. TelecomTV caught up with Sushel following his speaker session for a more in depth discussion on the German broadcaster's presence at this historically technology heavy fixed-line network Telecoms event.

"Quality of Experience is the key to success in the new broadband everywhere and anyhow telecommunications world. [Attend Broadband World Forum Europe and] learn what QoEx really means and how it will impact your interaction with your clients"
Pedro Aranda Guitierrez, Consultant, Telefonica
"...Business, regulatory and technical challenges are capital. During the [Broadband World Forum] we'll have the opportunity of sharing our visions and the state of the art of each one these challenges, and from different points of view: operators, manufacturers, content providers...
Vicente San Miguel, Chief Technology Officer, Telefonia
"Broadband is transformational; not least because it has changed, and will continue to change, the way we consume media. Looking forward we believe that media can adapt to the preferences of its audience. Narratives that can 'ShapeShift' to better meet the interests of the viewer, are the logical result of the raw capability of Broadband technology..."
Doug Williams, nm2 Project Director, Chief Technology Officer, BT
"Content is the reason that consumers turn on the television or computer or attend a live event as well as pay for the entertainment experience. But if content is king, then is advertising the queen?..."
Thomas Werner, Head of Applications, Service Core and Applications Business Unit, Nokia Siemens Networks
