DSL Forum's BroadbandSuite: Unleashing the Power of Broadband

To develop the full potential of broadband, service providers need to address three key areas-the access architecture, their control and management capabilities, and support of the home/office network. The DSL Forum addresses all of these with three channels of work, and this workshop will focus on exploring the related technical reports and activities that are setting the standard for service provider excellence.

Mr. Bathrick has been involved with the DSL Forum for more than nine years and is co-chair of the Forum's DSLHome technical working group. He has extensive product experience in the networking and broadband market segments with a solid record of delivering network technology to broadband system vendors and network carriers. He has held product management and engineering roles with Texas Instruments, Nokia, Alcatel, and Lucent and also earned a patent for improved techniques for video deployment.

Cagatay Buyukkoc

Dr. Buyukkoc is the Cisco Systems representative to marketing area of Metro Ethernet Forum. Dr. Buyukkoc received his Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley. He has worked in AT&T Bell Labs, AT&T Labs, and Lucent Technologies in various management and technical positions. He has published numerous articles and owns about 10 patents. His main interests are IP, P2P and Ethernet networks and related protocols, next-generation networks, and QoS. Dr. Buyukkoc is a leader in SG11, SG13 and FGNGN in QoS, Signaling and Release Management areas of ITU-T.

Richard Cardone

Mr. Cardone has more than 16 years of experience in the networking and telecommunications industry. He has spent the past five years evangelizing next-generation service delivery solutions that bring intelligent controls and predictable performance to IP networks. He has worked with leading service providers, network equipment vendors, and standards bodies to understand their market requirements and help shape their vision of next-generation network services.
Lawerence Chee
Director, Product Development
PMC-Sierra
Mr. Chee is responsible for the definition and development of PMC's home gateway products. He has more than 17 years of experience in the electronics industry as a principle chip architect for products such as graphics controllers, traffic managers, DSLAM line aggregation devices, terabit switches, and, most recently, RG SoCs. He focuses on working with carriers and service providers to realize their triple-play initiatives. He also is a strong participant in the Home Gateway Initiative.

Yue Chen
DSL Forum Ambassador Committee Chairperson and Manager, Corporate Systems Engineering
Juniper Networks, Inc.
Mr. Chen was a founding engineer of two successful start-up companies, Arris Communications and Redstone Communications. Redstone Communications was acquired by Siemens in 2000 to form its U.S. subsidiary, Unisphere Networks, which was later acquired by Juniper Networks. Prior to Redstone, Mr. Chen developed networking equipment for Nortel/BNR, Motorola Codex, Wellfleet/Bay Networks, and Cascade Communications. With more than 16 years of industry experience, he actively participates and contributes to the DSL Forum's Architecture and Transport working group.

Melissa P. Gay
Product Line Manager, Broadband CPE

Ms. Gay has been an active member of the DSL Forum since 2003. Her primary responsibility at Verizon is to assure the 5 million Verizon customers' broadband experience is enhanced by the use of home networking equipment. Ms. Gay has more than 20 years of experience in sales, marketing, and product development of telecommunication services and equipment for business and consumer customers.

Heather Kirksey

Motive
Ms. Kirksey directs strategy and execution of Motive's device management and digital home standards initiatives, including work in the DSL Forum, UPnP Forum, Digital Living Network Alliance, and Home Gateway Initiative. She currently serves as co-chair of the DSL Home Technical Working group within the DSL Forum and DSL Forum liaison officer to the Home Gateway Initiative. Within these capacities, Ms. Kirksey has served as editor for numerous DSL Forum documents. She joined Motive from BroadJump, where she worked in business development managing CPE partnerships and product integration efforts.
