Further penetration of addressable markets for broadband access services will depend on consumer demand for the content and applications enabled by these services. What are the most compelling applications, and what does it take to become a preferred provider? This panel brings together executives representing various points along the value chain of content development and delivery to address these questions and other issues in this critical area.

In addition to his role as president, Mr. Ackroyd also serves as a venture partner with CrossTechnology Venture Partners, a Japan-based venture capital firm that typically co-invests with Kleiner Perkins in portfolio companies entering the Japanese market.

Mr. Ackroyd brings 18 years of experience in building businesses. He has played key roles in the launch of the Sony PlayStation, Sega Dreamcast, and Lightspan educational software product line. In each case, he has led business development and has been responsible for all networking activities.

From 1991 to 1997, Mr. McIntyre held leadership roles in Scientific Atlanta's Transmission and Subscriber businesses, and is well-known as both a business and a technical leader. From 1997-1998, he served as president and chief executive officer of Avex, Inc., an electronic manufacturing company in Huntsville, Alabama. Prior to joining Scientific Atlanta, Mr. McIntyre was vice president and general manager of Augat's Interconnection Products group. Earlier in his career, he was vice president and general manager of GTE Communication Systems in both their Telephone Switching and Transmission businesses.

Mr. Murdoch leads Accenture's global portal industry segment in the Media and Entertainment practice of Accenture's Communications and High Tech group. He leads strategic programs with many of the largest Internet companies and interactive divisions of global media companies. Over the past eight years, Mr. Murdoch has helped communications, content, and technology companies navigate the changing digital landscape. In the communications sector, Mr. Murdoch has helped wireless carriers create consumer digital media services and helped wireline telcos move to IP-based consumer services.
