Delivering Integrated Business Services over Broadband: Architecture and Business Strategies
Thursday, 2 June | 13:30 - 15:00
Despite the tremendous growth of DSL and cable as a means of data access in recent years, many service providers are seeking to tap in to higher margin commercial services where traditional T1/E1 services remain the primary means of broadband access for businesses of all sizes. The goal of this session is to present the business case for delivering integrated voice and data services to small and medium businesses over packet-based broadband networks and to identify real-world issues and solutions associated with delivering traditional T1/E1 services and next generation services over fiber, DSL, and cable networks. This session will seek to answer the following questions:
  • What types of voice + data business solutions are successfully deployed today in support of legacy telephony services over broadband networks?
  • What network design issues must be addressed over a various packet based broadband networks to ensure voice quality of service levels required by business applications?
  • What are effective migration strategies for transitioning both customers and the service network environment in support of enhanced revenues through next generation services?
