Business Opportunities of Introducing Deep-Fiber Technologies
Wednesday, 1 June | 14:30 - 16:00
The broadband industry developed in the past year many technology innovations for the first mile of the network. Additionally to the traditional cable or ADSL connection from the central office, new access flavors are now available for massive roll-out : READSL2, ADSL2+, VDSL (VDSL2 under preparation), PON, EFM; following various deployments models : Central Office based, FTTN, FTTP and FTTH (also known as FTTU); with a clear trend towards more fiberization of the network.

This session will provide worldwide feedback concerning the telecom operators deployment strategies of Fiber, especially highlighting the business cases related to the FTTH and FTTN deployments, what could be the expected ROI, in which situations is it the most profitable technology.
