Technologies on Display:
Maestro xDSL Line Testing
Knowledge and maintenance of the installed copper plant are major concerns among xDSL operators. The Maestro system addresses these specific needs by supporting line qualification for xDSL and by monitoring and maintaining the copper pair access network.
Through improved capabilities, diagnostics, and troubleshooting, the Maestro system enables operators to optimize QoS, to keep control of mass deployment, and to decrease maintenance costs. The Maestro system consists of distributed remote test heads and a central management server. By using advanced Web technologies, it can be easily integrated with other management systems to allow a seamless end-to-end service assurance process.
Also available: Maestro portable-all-in-one and flexible-the equipment for service technicians.
TiQoS.VoIP
VoIP is one of the key services that demand a broadband access network. Today's best-effort service level will not be sufficient to attract business customers and to allow the migration from TDM-based networks.
By taking the role of the end customer, TiQoS (Testing in Quality of Service) performs active end-to-end service testing regardless of the access technology (CATV/DSL, mobile, etc.).
As a result, TiQoS provides the values for the overall speech quality according to ITU-T P.862, as well as many network related parameters (e.g., delay, jitter, packet loss, echo). This gives real insight into the quality of packet-based networks and is a prerequisite to guarantee the quality of your service.
VIT-A2
Eighty percent of the problems with ADSL2+ lines can be fixed and verified with some simple and efficient tests. The brand new VIT-A2 is an ADSL2+ handheld tester is for service technicians working in the field who need to fix these kinds of problems quickly, easily, and at low costs.
The tester is connected to the line instead of the customer's modem; it verifies the cabling and tries to synchronize with the DSLAM. Thus, the network operator can prove the function of its network and distinguish between failures within its own or within its customer's responsibility. VIT-A2 is fully compliant to ADSL and ADSL2+, making it a must for any service toolkit.
