Abacus 5000 Video Quality Assessment Test System
Responding to the urgent need for determining video quality plus a broad range of video distortion and degradation parameters under various network configurations and real-world load conditions, Spirent licensed the Psytechnics Perceptual Evaluation Video Quality Assessment
(PEVQ) tool, a full reference video quality measurement tool based on the ITU J.144 standard, and integrated it into the Abacus 5000 IP telephony test migration system.
Using a complex video quality assessment algorithm it compares the received video clip from the output of the system under test to the reference clip and provides an MOS video quality rating score.
Multiple test systems distributed at various points in the network can help carriers diagnose problems and get an accurate picture of network capability.
AX/4000 Broadband Test System
Together, the AX/4000 Broadband Test System and mAX IP are simply the most powerful system ever developed for testing the performance and Quality of Service of Broadband technologies. This combination has become the standard tool for testing broadband routers and access servers. Spirent has created the mAX SLAM 12 port ADSL2+ interface for the AX/4000, to enable performance and QoS testing of Triple Play DSLAMs.
Spirent's mAX SLAM control software makes provisioning a 1000 port test as simple as configuring a single port & applying the same setting to all of the test ports. For more complicated testing scenarios that emulate real world service provisioning, modems that share like settings can be grouped and configured simultaneously, allowing provisioning of different traffic scenarios and QoS across VCs and across ports.
