Stand #7027
Sandvine's award-winning intelligent network equipment helps broadband service providers characterize what really happens on their networks, enabling policies that improve customer satisfaction, reduce operational costs, and improve profitability. Sandvine's application and subscriber-aware solutions empower service providers to take control of P2P traffic; stop the proliferation of destructive worm, DoS, and spam trojan traffic; and ensure subscriber quality of experience (QoE). With over 100 deployments worldwide, Sandvine is protecting the Internet experience for more than 20 million broadband subscribers.

Technologies on Display
Enabling Intelligent Broadband Networks
Is your network ready for the successful rollout of VoIP and other triple-play services?

Using VoIP as an example of a valuable broadband subscriber application, Sandvine will demonstrate VoIP protection from competing network traffic, quantitative quality measurements for VoIP, real-time communication with subscribers via a captive portal, and upsell opportunities for carriers to increase revenues and enhance the subscriber experience.

In the Sandvine demonstration, a subscriber initiates a video telephony call while a denial of service (DoS) attack is simultaneously launched on the same network. As a result, degradation in the video portion of the telephony call is observed, as there is no VoIP traffic prioritization set for the selected service tier. The subscriber's subsequent session is redirected to a captive portal and is provided instructions on how to cleanse the network, as well as notified of a better service tier based on usage.
