(PECI: MI), has combined its expertise in broadband access technology and photonics to create one company that delivers an end-to-end solution. With its modular and compact design and CWDM optical technology, City8^TM delivers high-bandwidth provisioning at a substantially lower cost. Telecom operators can obtain high-bandwidth, carrier-class services over a single fiber pair. City8^TM provides 8 channels with the option to upgrade to 16, and it supports both TDM and Datacom interfaces.

By adopting a field programmable electronic core and pluggable (SFP) optical transceivers, telecom operators can enable a single transponder unit that is configured to address all network applications. Sub-lambda multiplexing maintains transparent client services.

Pirelli's HY-STB delivers VoIP and interactive-Digital Terrestrial Television in one powerful multimedia platform. With a dedicated, high-power media processor, HY STB is capable of decoding all new encoding standards including standard definition and high definition H.264 and legacy coding standards such as MPEG-1 and MPEG-2. Digital Right Management (DRM) and Conditional Access (CA) guarantee that content is always protected. HY-STB can be equipped with a hard drive for media content storage and is compatible with most digital cameras. Remote management, automatic provisioning, and mass- firmware upgrades of all Pirelli and TR-069 CPE are possible through Pirelli's Management Platform. Pirelli's modular gateway family promotes flexibility, allowing telecom operators to add new services only when they are needed. At the core of the modular gateway product line is an ADSL router with Ethernet and USB ports. The "base" device supports additional interfaces and functionalities through expansion modules: WiFi 802.11g, VoIP DECT and PLC.
