Stand #3007
mPhase Technologies develops and commercializes next-generation solutions for telecommunications and nanotechnology applications. mPhase developed and deployed one of the world's first systems to deliver television over local telephone networks in 1999. The new mPhase TV+ System delivers IPTV over telephone fiber and DSL networks using an open systems architecture that is carrier-grade, reliable and scalable. The company also produces a line of DSL components and an industry leading DSL network test system, Broadband Loop Watch.

Technologies on Display:

Broadband Loop Watch
Today's broadband networks support very demanding, unforgiving applications such as video and mission critical data. Consumers are unwilling to miss even a few seconds of their favorite programs because packets are dropped and are even less forgiving of scheduled maintenance outages.

Now, mPhase Technologies, a pioneer in video over DSL systems and a leading provider of network splitter technology has developed the mPhase Broadband Loop Watch™ System to automate maintenance of broadband networks.

BLW will help network operators maximize their broadband networks while minimizing their operating expense.

BLW provides access to both the line and equipment side of a loop to enable test access and maintenance. Switching supports probing each loop independently of the other in an impedance-controlled fabric. The system supports an optional integrated splitter for use in DSL applications.

The system is integrated with leading test head systems. It includes support of RS232, RS485, or Ethernet control. A high impedance mode allows test access without causing DSL modems to resynchronize during the test. The system provides superior test access in turn allowing the service provider to better characterize customer loops and provide service. Automated remote testing significantly reduces the OpEx of manual intervention. Learn more in the mPhase booth, #3007.

mPhase TV+

The mPhase TV+ System is the third generation of video-delivery systems for telephone networks created by mPhase Technologies.

Designed at Lucent Bell Labs, the system is an industry leading Open Systems video soft switch. The system uses a unique cluster architecture to scale gracefully from a thousand users to tens of thousands across both DSL and fiber local loops.

The mPhase service creation environment allows telephone companies to innovate new services at three points. Customization of the end-user interface is easily accomplished and will be demonstrated in the video pavilion. Service bundles of new content are managed through the Bell Labs-designed SMS. And finally, new services can be developed at the business level using the Java-based software.

The system will be on view in both Booth #3007 and the IPTV Pavilion on the ground floor.
