Stand #2001
LEA designs, develops, markets, and sells integrated components and systems for broadband access, including Central Office (CO) and Customer Premises Equipment (CPE) splitters for DSL equipment, as well as Powerline Communications (PLC) products for indoor distribution of high speed Internet services. LEA is also the only DSL Interoperability Test Lab recognized by the DSL Forum in France. LEA offers its CO and CPE splitter products to major DSL modem vendors, DSLAM suppliers, and Internet Service Providers around the world. Established in 1999, LEA is headquartered in Paris and has offices in Cesson-Sévigné (France), Belgium, UK, and China.

Technologies on Display
24-port CO Splitter Boards
The PCO 24-01 series includes 24-port ADSL2/2+/VDSL over POTS or ISDN splitter boards, covering most DSL splitter specifications. It is designed to maximize the separation of voice and ADSL signals over copper transmission lines.

PCO 24-01 splitter boards integrate 24 low-pass filters which prevent the high-frequency energy from reaching the POTS or ISDN device, and provide isolation from impedance effects of the POTS or ISDN device on ADSL. In addition, these filters also attenuate any wideband impulse noise generated by the POTS or ISDN device due to the interruption of line current (e.g. pulse dialing or on-hook/off-hook transition).

The filters also provide some protection for externally induced line hits or faults. An over-voltage protection circuit is embedded in the splitter design.

Blocking capacitors are generally inserted in the Line to ADSL path. The additional matching ADSL high-pass filter is usually installed on the corresponding ADSL modem line card.

CO Splitter Shelves
The RK U235-01 range consists of CO splitter shelves designed to manage from 24 to 384 lines when fitted with LEA CO splitter boards.

The RK021U235-01 shelf houses one or two splitter boards, offering a density of 24 or 48 ports in a 1.5U height.

The RK169U235-01 shelf houses from 1 to 16 splitter boards, offering from 24 to 384 ports density in a 9U height.

Reversible brackets enable front or rear access for cabling.

Metallic chassis provides excellent protection for EMC (EN55022, EN55024) and safety (EN60950, K20) purposes according to provisions of 89/336/CEE and 73/23/CEE European directives.

Additional accessories are available to close splitter shelf when no splitter board is inserted and to provide SDSL cabling.

SplitterMux®
SplitterMux®: The DSL splitter with integrated Test Access.

Loop qualification, test and diagnostics are key drivers of DSL service profitability. Using its world-class expertise in DSL splitters, LEA has created SplitterMux®: a complete, highly cost-effective splitter system with integrated Test Access. SplitterMux® allows full wideband testing of DSL local loops, with no impact on scarce central office space. And it interoperates with leading test heads and OSS software, enabling centralized control of test equipment and vastly reduced loop qualification and maintenance costs.

SplitterMux® Benefits
  1. Broadband testing of loops at all narrowband and broadband frequencies, for any loop length and topology
  2. With operator-selected test heads and test suites
  3. At constant density and with reduced cabling costs
  4. Designed from the start with international requirements in mind and high system port count
    • Front cabling
    • Up to 3072 ports in one system
    • Various impedances, including real and complex

  5. 5 different splitter line cards available as standard
  6. Highly cost-effective
  7. LEA expertise in designing high-performance splitter line cards compliant with specific customer and country requirements
