Half-day Workshop: Home Networking - Part One
This workshop will provide a full understanding of what is required to build the Intelligent Digital Home with broadband network technology and services. It also brings real-life experience of service/content provider, network operator, vendor, and home builder on the intelligent digital home network technology and its market deployment.
Chairperson:
Hung Song, Vice President, Global Marketing Group, Telecommunication Systems Division, Samsung Electronics, is responsible for new business development and marketing for the mobile, broadband, and home network systems. Prior to joining Samsung, he worked for US WEST over 5 years in the new technology infrastructure, systems engineering, and software development areas. He worked also for Bellcore and AT&T Bell Laboratories.
Speakers:
Byung-Soo Chang ,Assistant Vice President, Marketing Planning Group, KT, is responsible for convergence service business. He is considered to be one of the distinguished managing directors of KT. As a head of convergence team of the Marketing Planning Group, he is responsible for developing new service and strategic marketing for one phone and the Home Network business. He was the chairman of Radio Telecommunication Technical Committee of TTA (the Telecommunications Technology Association of Korea) in 1992-2003.
Woo-Seung Lee, Team Manager, Digital Home Business Team, SK Telecom, received the B.S, MS and Ph.D degree from Kyung Hee University, Korea in 1985, 1987 and 2000 respectively, all in electronic engineering. During 1987-1991, he served in Korean Air Force with a first lieutenant and then worked in R&D center of Korea Telecom International as a research engineer for 1991 to 1995. Since 1995, he was responsible forhe implementation, testing and operation of Iridium system, and the development of RF system for mobile communication, and establishment of business strategy for IMT-2000, next generation mobile network.
Brian Levy, Group Technology Officer, Service and Solutions Architecture Office of the Chief Technical Officer, BT Group, has been instrumental in the 21st Century Network programme and in the development of BT's future product portfolio.
Noriyuki Terada, Vice President, Innovative IP Architecture Center, NTT Communications Corporation, is in charge of SIP based VoIP System development. Mr. Terada contributed to standardization of SDH System in the CCITT, especially of its base rate 155.52Mbps. After his standardization activities, he took leadership in Multimedia trials on the integrated access service of digital CATV, video on demand and telephony based on ATM-PON technology. He also initiated NTT's ATM Services, ATM Mega-Link Service in 1997 and Digital Video Broadcasting Service in 2003.
Seung-Sik Yoon, Chief Technology Officer, R&D Center, Interactivy, currently serves as Chief Technology Officer, Research and Development Center, for Interactivy, and has been a consultant for organizing the home networking system for service providers.
