Ethernet in the Access Network
Ethernet as a mainstream access technology has been picking up first in Asia and in certain pockets of Europe. A global picture will be painted as regards who is deploying, what volumes can we expect and what are the technologies that could increase the speed in the adoption of Etherent as a mainstream access technology for incumbent carriers worldwide.
Chairperson:
Craig Easley, President EFMA, Board member MEF and Officer of the CTO at Extreme Networks, is responsible for marketing Extreme's Ethernet switching products for deployment in public networks to link enterprise and residential subscribers to the wealth of high- speed services available in the metro-area network.
Speakers:
Saood Aljenaibi, Manager of Engineering/Cable Transmission, Emirates Telecommunication, has 13 years experience in the planning and deployment of wireline transmission networks.
Nan Chen, Vice President of Marketing, Atrica, is the founding President and a board member of the Metro Ethernet Forum, a worldwide industry consortium created to accelerate the adoption of optical Ethernet in Metro networks. Prior to joining Atrica, Mr. Chen served as the Director of Product Management and Product Marketing at Force10 Networks. Mr. Chen was a founding Director of the 10 Gigabit Ethernet Alliance (10 GEA) and served on the Board of Directors of 10 GEA.
Yuri Gittik, Director of Business Development, RAD Data Communications, is responsible for directing and leading the company's strategic cooperation with carriers and vendors targeting network infrastructure and service development particularly in the area of Ethernet and MPLS access. He also supervises RAD's program for vertical marketing.
Sascha Lindecke, Director of Product Marketing, COM/Access, Infineon Technologies AG, has 8 years of experience in marketing and sales of telecommunication ICs. Mr. Lindecke now heads Product Marketing for Symmetric DSL, Interworking and PON ICs within the Business Unit Access at Infineon Technologies AG in Munich Germany. In addition, Mr. Lindecke represents Infineon in the DSL-Forum.
