Services Migration at the Network Edge

The need to acquire new customers, enhance revenues, and effectively counter ever-increasing competition from MSOs, is driving network service providers to rapidly evolve their services portfolios. This services migration is being fueled by advanced packet processing being incorporated into IP core and edge systems. And whereas IP edge systems once served as service-transparent aggregation or distribution vehicles for delivering basic communications services to end customers, they are now enabling an exciting new set of personalized, high-performance, and content-rich services for residential and business customers-services including gaming, music, and various video services. These new edge-driven functionalities are unleashing a host of new opportunities for both network service and content providers to partner in creating new experiences for end users.

This panel will explore the dynamic business and service-delivery issues in leveraging the enhanced network to create new content service and distribution opportunities. The network and content provider perspectives, as well as the vantage points of technology and financial analysts, will be presented.
