Emerging Broadband Services: Development Market Drives and Delivery
This session will examine one provider's experience in creating a profitable model for offering demand-driven broadband services. Aliant Telecom is cost-effectively expanding into new markets and targeting high-value customers with advanced, tailored, Internet protocol (IP)-based offerings. The session will feature findings from recent primary research of both enterprise and consumer markets, insight into one of Aliant's business customers on its decision to invest in a managed solution, and an overview of how a next-generation service fulfillment operations support system (OSS) has delivered the end-user quality of experience and operational-expense reductions that Aliant required to drive revenues and maintain profitability.
Chairperson Joe Mosher, Director, Strategy and Business Development, Aliant Telecom, has spent the last 24 years in various positions associated with the telecom industry. His last 10 years have been focused on developing, implementing, and commercializing interactive networks and associated applications for the phone, PC, and TV. Prior to his current position, Mr. Mosher was general manager of the ITV division of Innovatia. Speakers Mike Doerk, Senior Manager, Carrier Voice over IP Solutions Marketing, Nortel Networks, is responsible for marketing Nortel Network's integrated set of voice, multimedia, collaboration, and presence-based enhanced service solutions to the VoIP carrier market segment. Craig Forbes, President, Service Creation Community, evaluates and manages new business opportunities, mergers, acquisitions, partnerships, alliances, and/or joint ventures consistent with the company's strategic direction. Nikita Masters, Product Manager, Service Activation, Intec Telecom Systems, is responsible for global messaging and product positioning for the Inter-activatE™ product offering. Theresa Robinson, Director, Strategic Planning, Systems Business Unit, Ericsson, is currently involved with the definition and execution of Ericsson's IP service strategy. Ken Workun, Director, Business Development, Atreus Systems, has brought to Atreus Systems an extensive range of technology and business-development experience. |
